Newark, Del. (May 5, 2011) - On Tuesday, May 10, 2011, the Delaware Tourism industry will commemorate National Travel and Tourism Week (May 7-15, 2011) and celebrate the significance of the tourism industry to the nation and our state's economy. The event will be held at the new Delaware Welcome Center Travel Plaza located at 530 JFK Memorial Highway in Newark, Delaware.
Members of the media are encouraged to attend between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Representatives from the tourism industry and government officials will greet and welcome travelers to Delaware. Remarks by government officials including Cabinet Secretary Alan Levin (Director, Delaware Economic Development Office) and County Executive Paul Clark will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.
