Located just outside of the city of Wilmington, Bellevue State Park hosts a myriad of opportunities for park visitors. The former estate of William DuPont, Jr., the elegant Bellevue Hall, formal gardens, equestrian facilities, tennis courts and numerous outbuildings are reminiscent of the way of life that once occurred upon these grounds. Unpaved wooded trails traverse the grounds, as well as the paved Northern Delaware Greenway; great for jogging, biking, or roller blading. A 1-1/8 mile fitness track complete with an interactive life course circles a catch-and-release fishing pond and disc golf course. Educational and recreational park programs are offered year-round for visitors of all ages. Themed day camps entertain and educate children during the summer months. From June through September, the park boasts a diverse Summer Concert Series at the Bandshell. Opportunities to enjoy music at the park don’t end when the weather turns cold, they simply move inside to Bellevue Hall for the park’s “Music In The Mansion” series. Hayrides (by reservation) are fun in the fall. Outdoor ice skating is also allowed, conditions permitting. Bellevue is truly a park for all seasons.
