Plentiful and pleasantly diverse, breweries are arguably the big daddies of the Delaware Beer, Wine and Spirits Trail, especially the ever-quirky and consistently excellent Dogfish Head, revered by “extreme beer” enthusiasts worldwide. A trip to Dogfish’s brewery and its steampunk treehouse is a must, but be sure to check out other brewing company standouts such as 16 Mile, Twin Lakes, Fordham & Dominion, and Mispillion River. When it’s time to dine, consider the trail’s excellent restaurant brewhouses, including Stewart’s, Iron Hill, and of course, the Dogfish Head pub in Rehoboth Beach.
