American Moderns features 57 paintings and sculptures that highlight changes in American art and culture during the fascinating half-century from 1910 through 1960.

“An Illegal Activity: The Underground Railroad in Delaware” at First State Heritage Park
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Friday); 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Saturday); 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Sunday)
The exhibit explores the First State's role in the pre-Civil War network of secret routes and safe houses used by black slaves in the United States to escape to free states and Canada with the aid of abolitionists and allies who were sympathetic to their cause.

Zip line with Go Ape at Lums Pond State Park
Recurring daily; Times vary based on reservation
Four zip lines take you high over Lums Pond, the largest freshwater pond in Delaware.  Overall there are 5 individual sections within the course - rope ladders, 42 exciting crossings including Double Stirrups, and stunning views that take you higher into the forest canopy. Please note there is an entry fee for the Park - $3 for DE registered vehicles & $6 for out-of-state vehicles.

Enjoy a two-night stay at the Indian River Inlet cottages, with tours and presentations hosted by Friends of Fenwick Lighthouses, Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation, the Lightship Overfalls, and the Indian River Life-Saving Station. Breakfast and lunch included. Pre-registration is required; ages 12 and older. $235/ weekend cottage rental rate & $55 per person.

Bicycle Tour on the Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge

Embark on an eight-mile bike ride on the Refuge. The group will make several stops for bird identification and to discuss wildlife management techniques. Bicycle should have hybrid tires. Don't forget your helmet and check the air in your tires! Meet at the Visitor Center.

Follow in the footsteps of Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon, the famous surveyors of the Mason-Dixon Line. Participants will hike to the Tri-state Marker in tribute to their work, which began soon after their arrival in Philadelphia 250 years ago this month.
