Art is Social “French Twist: Masterworks of Photography” at the Delaware Art Museum

Free for members; $5 for non-members
Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School of Philadelphia is back for this exciting event celebrating French Twist: Masterworks of Photography from Atget to Man Ray! Professional and amateur artists alike are invited to sketch costumed models dressed in Parisian attire. Travel back to early 20th-century Paris for exclusive beer and wine tastings, live music, and a chance to see the Museum’s exhibitions.

Amish Country Bike Tour

$60/adults; $30 ages 5-16; under 5 is free
The Amish Country Bike Tour is suited for all ages and abilities and includes 15, 25, 50, 62 and 100-mile loops through the flatlands of Delaware's Amish farmlands. Rest stops include the famous "Pie Stop" at the Amish Schoolhouse, where members of the Amish community and other volunteers serve locally baked pies and cookies. 

First Saturdays in the First State

On the first Saturday of each month, the First State Heritage Park offers a variety of free programs including historical theater or hands-on events at the John Bell House, tours of the Old State House and Legislative Hall plus, much more!

35th Annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival

Join more than 100 skilled artists at the premier fine arts festival set against the beautiful backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean on the Bethany Beach boardwalk and surrounding streets. This premier outdoor fine arts festival features local and national artists in an array of mediums from metals to watercolors.

Brandywine Festival of the Arts
September 7 – 8, 2013
Saturday (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.); Sunday (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Over 200 artists from the region and across the country will be joined by local restaurants and musical performers on the banks of the Brandywine River in Downtown Wilmington.

Annual Nanticoke Indian Powwow – Millsboro
September 7 – 8, 2013

Experience authentic Indian music, dancing, arts & crafts plus, Native American food and more! Located in Millsboro, DE at the Nanticoke Indian Museum.

Civil War Weekend at the Wilmington and Western Railroad
September 7 – 8, 2013
12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Travel with troops for a 2¼-hour round-trip train ride to the site of a skirmish between Union and Confederate forces. You'll see men and women dressed in authentic period costumes using weapons of that time. This event is powered by one of our antique steam locomotives.
