Celebrate July 4th in Delaware - 2014

Come celebrate July 4th in the First State. Here is a list of fireworks displays in Delaware for 2014!

Cape Henlopen State Park 50th Anniversary Fireworks Display
June 29, 2014
9:15 p.m. - 9:45 p.m.
Catch an extra fireworks display as Cape Henlopen and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry celebrate their 50th anniversary. The fireworks will be launched from the fishing pier. 

Cape May-Lewes Ferry Special Fireworks Cruise

July 5, 2014
 - Originally scheduled for July 3 but, postponed due to weather conditions
Spectacular fireworks will illuminate the skies above the Delaware Bay. Cruise departs Lewes at 6:45 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 800-643-3779. Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m. Enjoy drinks on the deck with live entertainment.

 - Rescheduled due to weather conditions

The annual parade has been cancelled and the fireworks have been rescheduled for July 5, 2014. The Warrior Spirit Band will still perform on July 4, 2014 at the Bethany Beach Bandstand.

Dewey Beach Fireworks on the Bay

Begins at dusk
Enjoy a festive fireworks display in Dewey Beach! The fireworks will be set off from a barge in the Rehoboth Bay and are visible from any bar or restaurant along the bayside in Dewey including the Rusty Rudder, Lighthouse, Que Pasa, North Beach, etc. Arrive early and get a good spot on their decks. Reservations are not available. Sponsored by participating Highway One bars and restaurants. Fireworks are rain or shine. Call 302-227-3888 for more details.

Dover 4th of July – A celebration of Independence in the Capital of the First State

July 4, 2014 (Any changes to their schedule will be announced on their Facebook page)
Tours, events, food, music & more take place in historic Dover on July 4th, including an outdoor concert packed with patriotic tunes on Legislative Mall. Fireworks blast off above Legislative Hall at about 9:25 p.m.

Fireworks Express - Wilmington and Western Railroad
Park at the Greenbank Station and the steam locomotive train will take you directly into Hockessin for the July 4th Fireworks - it's a fun, family event at an affordable price. Passengers are welcome to bring coolers, blankets and folding chairs aboard. Allow four hours for the train ride and fireworks show. Reservations are required for this event.

Newark – Fourth of July Fireworks and Liberty Day

Food, music and fireworks are part of the annual Liberty Day Celebration that takes places on the southern part of Newark and the University of Delaware campus from 6-9 p.m. July 4th. The fireworks blast off at the University of Delaware's David M. Nelson Athletic Complex on South College Avenue at Del. 896, but they can be viewed from various points throughout the area. Cancelled due to weather conditions - Lewes’ Old Fashioned 4th of July – Special event but, no fireworks

Beginning at 9:00 a.m., enjoy Old-fashioned children's games and activities on Second Street, a decorated boat parade on the canal at 2:00 p.m. and the Annual Doo-Dah Parade. This is a special event but, will not have fireworks.

Annual Town Bonfire - Fenwick Island (Special event but, no fireworks)
July 5, 2014
6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Bring the family out for music, games and much more at the annual town bonfire in Fenwick Island - located at Dagsboro Street. Set out your beach chair and enjoy the sights and sounds of a fun-filled night. For more information, call 302-539-3011. Please note this event will not have fireworks.
