Costumes of Downton Abbey® at Winterthur
Recurring daily (Tuesday – Sunday)

Costumes of Downton Abbey is an original exhibition of exquisite designs from the award-winning television series. Approximately 35 historically accurate costumes from the television show will be displayed with photographs and vignettes inspired by the fictional program and by real life at Winterthur.

Delaware Burger Battle

12:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Mark the unofficial last weekend of summer with this event!  Restaurants from across the state will offer samples of their best burgers, a panel of expert judges will select the Critic's Choice Winner, and guests will vote on the People's Choice Winner.

Mispillion River Brewing – Beer Olympics

12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to register for events, including yard pong, a keg tog, the can shot put, a greased watermelon relay, the world’s shortest boat race and ice block melting. The event is free to the public but, the brewery is asking for visitors to bring a canned donation for the Food Bank of Delaware. Pints of beer will be available for purchase and Mr. BBQ will be serving up delicious sandwiches.

Science Saturdays: Leaf Packs at Hagley Museum and Library

Experiment and innovate with hands-on activities for the family to enjoy together. Hagley invites visitors to explore and learn about the macroinvertebrates in our river through a leaf pack. Activities are included in regular admission and free for members. Use Hagley’s main entrance off Route 141 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Harvest Ridge Winery Food and Music Evening

5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Throughout the summer and into the fall we will be hosting food and music evenings at the winery with special hours. No reservations are required! All prices are dependent on individual food and wine purchases. There will also be a corn hole tournament for those that want to participate! Music: Adam Murray; Food: Crave Eatery

Sunset kayak tour at Lums Pond State Park

Begins at 6:30 p.m.
Paddle into the sunset on a guided tour. Experience the changing scenery from day to night on waters of Lums Pond. Suitable for beginning paddlers – instruction provided. Rain date is the following day. Cost is $20/per person. Reservations are required.

Ride to Mt. Cuba Meteor on the Wilmington and Western Railroad

Take a leisurely 1½-hour round-trip train ride up the Red Clay Valley to the Mt. Cuba Picnic Grove, where you'll enjoy a ½-hour layover to have a picnic or simply admire the natural surroundings.

Pirate Sail on the Kalmary Nyckel – docked in Lewes

Ahoy mateys! Set sail on the Kalmar Nyckel while from the Cape May Lewes Ferry terminal into the Delaware Bay on a tall ship replica. Kids will enjoy a pirate story or help raise the Jolly Roger. The entire family will join a scavenger hunt for treasure!
