The Saint John’s Bible: Illuminating the Word Exhibit

Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Known as the St. John’s Bible, the oversized and lavishly illustrated book is the result of a 15-year effort by world-class calligraphers and artists who used hand-ground paints, ancient inks and quills to decorate each page. The exhibition highlights 70 pages of the Bible, accompanied by a display of tools, materials and artists’ drafts used in its creation.

Holiday Lights Express on the Wilmington & Western Railroad

4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Enjoy a peaceful interlude at the end of the year with a 45-minute evening ride aboard our heated 1929 Pennsylvania Railroad "Doodlebug" railcar (which is covered with thousands of holiday lights). Many of our trackside neighbors decorate their homes and yards for our passengers to enjoy. The train departs every hour starting at 5:00 PM. Reservations are required.

The Spirit of Christmas in Old New Castle

Come experience the Spirit of Christmas. Activities include tours of many historic homes decorated for the season, museum tours, events at the New Castle Court House (part of the First State National Historical Park) and musical performances and entertainment throughout the town.

"A Dickens Experience" in Historic New Castle

The New Castle Historical Society will help bring the Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol" to life on the streets of New Castle as part of the Spirit of Christmas! Admission will be free for the day at the Amstel House, which will be decorated for a traditional colonial holiday celebration, and the Dutch House, which will feature a celebration of St. Nicholas' Eve.

Cider Fest at Fifer Orchards

Spend the day on the farm with hot apple cider, hayrides, fresh-cut Christmas trees, locally made wreaths and much more.

Horizon Riverfront Outdoor Ice Skating Rink
Saturday and Sunday
Saturday: 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.; Sunday: 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Come enjoy the open-air rink that is within walking distance to delicious restaurants. Admission is $8 (ages 13 & up) and $5 (age 12 & under). Skate rental is $3 per skater.

Pictures with Santa at the Air Mobility Command Museum

Santa will be making a special visit to the AMC Museum. Have your pictures taken with him inside the C-5. Also while visiting the Museum, experience the Christmas Garden inside the main hangar where our Christmas tree will be lit up with a Christmas town and a train set running underneath.

Milton Holiday House Tour

Enjoy the annual Milton Holiday House Tour. These charming homes can be enjoyed by car and on foot thru the historic district. All will be decorated in the holiday spirit. Refreshments served throughout the tour. Tickets on sale in advance and day of the event.
