Delaware Bird-a-Thon

If you've never had a chance to experience the world-class bird-watching available at Delaware's coastal wildlife preserves, this event is a great way to check it out (and possibly win some prizes). Structured much like a walk-a-thon, the fundraiser challenges participants to count the number of different bird species seen (or heard) in a 24-hour period.

The 97th Annual Wilmington Flower Market will be held at Rockford Park in Wilmington the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before Mother's Day. This fun-filled event is eagerly awaited by market-goers of all ages throughout the region. Flowers and plants of all kinds are available and Flower Market is a favorite shopping stop for Mom on her special day. Children's rides and games, concerts, food and drink, merchants' booths, crafts and artwork make for a great Spring outing. Rain or shine, admission is free.

Formerly known as the Second Saturdays Garden Walk, these walks are on the second Saturday of each month, year-round at 1:00 pm (unless otherwise noted). All walks begin and end at the Visitor Center and are free for Members and included with admission. Join Winterthur’s Director of Garden & Estate Chris Strand on a special walk highlighting interesting and seldom seen parts of the Winterthur landscape! Walks last about 90 minutes. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear walking shoes. In case of inclement weather, an update message will be left at 302.888.4915 approximately 3 hours before the walk.
