The festival will include La Cenerentola (Rossini's popular setting of Cinderella) and his rarely-performed tragedy, Semiramide. The 2017 festival will once again bring opera fans from near and far. Our innovative “Inside the Opera Studio” series and “Sunday Artist Spotlight” programs continue to build audiences here at home. The 84th Annual Dover Days Festival is one of the largest, longest-running, free, popular events in the state of Delaware dedicated to promoting the heritage and culture of Dover and the state of Delaware. Dover Days hosts the largest parade in Dover with approximately 4,500 participants and watched by approximately 9,000 people; the Governor of the state of Delaware serves as the Grand Marshal.

This exhibition presents the work of iconic American photographer, Ansel Adams. His work can be viewed as the end of an arc of American art concerned with capturing the “sublime” in the unspoiled Western landscape: a tradition that includes several painters on view within the Biggs Museum including Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Cole.

If you've never had a chance to experience the world-class bird-watching available at Delaware's coastal wildlife preserves, this event is a great way to check it out (and possibly win some prizes). Structured much like a walk-a-thon, the fundraiser challenges participants to count the number of different bird species seen (or heard) in a 24-hour period.
