Lewes is rich with historic happenings, legends, and tall-tales, many of them involving a touch of the paranormal. This 90-minute walking tour will introduce you to stories of strange happenings in the town of Lewes and visit one of the most haunted places in Delaware the Cannonball House. Flashlights recommended. Due to the mature content of this tour children under the age of 12 are strongly discouraged from attending. Seasonal tour: For a spooky night in one of Delaware’s most historic towns, join the Lewes Historical Society for “Spooky Stories: Shipwrecks & Shoals,” featuring a costumed interpreter who will lead visitors on a walking journey of the town’s haunted past of pirates and privateers. The night includes an eerie visit to two old buildings and St. Peter’s Church cemetery, and tales about the lives and (afterlives) of the town’s best-known residents. 2015 tour schedule to be announced.
