We begin our season by taking a step back in time, with Rossini’s hilarious prequel to The Marriage of Figaro starring John Zuckerman, Donald Hartmann, Misoon Ghim, Brian B. Carter and Irwin Densen. Gioachino Rossini’s madcap prequel to last season’s The Marriage of Figaro will not only have you singing his famous tunes — “Figaro, Figaro, Fiiiiiiiigaro!”— but laughing at the absurd twists of plot every step of the way. Count Almaviva is in love with beautiful Rosina and dresses as a poor student to woo her, but her jealous benefactor Bartolo wants Rosina all for himself... The barber Figaro devises a clever plot to sneak her away and is almost, but not quite, stopped by an entire army. PERFORMANCES AT THE GRAND.
