Firefly Music Festival

Top Summer Concerts in Delaware

When summer arrives, the stage is set in Delaware for some long, freewheeling weekends featuring some of the nation’s top music acts. Savvy music fans from across the East Coast know that Delaware is one of the best destinations for music festivals, thanks to its convenient location in the Mid-Atlantic, its low-cost, tax-free status.

Most of Delaware’s top music festivals also offer a camping option, and all are within quick drive of the state’s beach resorts, should you decide to turn your music pilgrimage into an extended summer break.

First up in June is the four-day Firefly Music Festival, which in a few short years has become one of the nation’s top showcases of indie rock and other genres, from old-school to modern music’s cutting edge. Year after year, the headliners include the world’s can’t-miss superstars, from the Foo Fighters to Jack Black to Paul McCartney.

In July, the Delaware State Fair keeps things hopping with a dependably star-studded lineup.

And throughout the summer, Freeman Stage at Bayside and the bandstands in Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach offer regular concerts that are a perfect side trip for folks vacationing at the Delaware beaches.
