Parking: Parking is available in each of the five main day use areas and at the dog park lot at the end of Buck Jersey Road.
Lums Pond is built around the largest freshwater pond in Delaware. The park features excellent fishing, sports facilities, picnic area and pavilions, camping, boat rentals, horseback riding, a zipline/rope course, a nature center offering various outdoor programs, day camps and more on its 1,790 acres on the north side of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal.
Hours of Operation; Main Gate: 8 a.m.-sunset. Boat rentals available 7 days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day and weekends in Sept.
Seasonal Hours: Park office is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m., 7 days a week. Closed on weekends and state holidays from Nov. 1-April1.
Best Time to Visit: Each season offers a new outdoor experience.
Best Known For: Lums Pond is well known as a place for hiking and fishing, boat rentals, picnicking, camping, horse back riding, and most recently, for its newest concession, the Go Ape! Adventure Course.
Travel Tips: The main entrance of the park is at 1068 Howell School Rd. Entrances to the campground, boat launch area, and marina are off Route 71 (Red Lion Rd.)
Special Instructions: Park entrance fee in effect from March 1-Nov. 30.
