Nanticoke Indian Museum

< BACK

This small but fascinating museum is located in a former school building that is owned and operated by the Nanticoke Indian Association. Its collection of jewelry, pottery, spears, arrow points, and other artifacts are designed to interpret the culture of Native Americans. Oral presentations by the Nanticoke people are a highlight of most visits. If you are visiting in September, check out the schedule for the annual Nanticoke Powwow, when the Association welcomes visitors to its annual festival featuring the customs, food, and dances of the Nanticoke tribe. Hours of Operation: January – March: Friday & Saturday (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.); April – December: Tuesday - Saturday (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.); Sunday (12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
