Explore the state of Delaware
Sharing space with the Delaware Nature Society’s Cooch-Dayett Mills interpretive center, this site celebrates the history of this northwestern corner of New Castle County where rural lifestyles mixed with industrial growth and development. The Pencader Heritage Area Association operates the museum. Of particular note are the organization’s efforts to tell the story of Delaware’s only Revolutionary War battlefield at nearby Cooch’s Bridge. The Nature Society’s Cooch-Dayett Mills facility, housed in a historic 1838 grist mill, features educational programs and an opportunity to see one of the state’s last functioning milling facilities.
