Blue Rocks 20th Season Tribute - The Wilmington Blue Rocks are proud to celebrate their 20th season by inviting fans to the 20th Season Tribute game on Saturday, April 14th at Frawley Stadium at 6:05 pm! The first 1,000 adults will receive free Blue Rocks t-shirts courtesy of Copeland’s Mulch Depot. More

A celebration of the Landing of Swedes and Finns to found Wilmington, beginning with the annual Landing Day ceremony with the Delaware Swedish Colonial Society at 11:00. Vendors, exhibitors, musicians, crafters, food will be present. The New Sweden Centre Museum next door will be open. And hearth cooking will be demonstrated up the street at Old Swedes Historic Site. As part of Wilmington's Colonists' Day celebrations, Old Swedes Historic Site is proud to present an acoustical performance by the Whirled Peas Band, Saturday, April 14 at 7pm. American Roots music, a genre that encompasses folk, bluegrass, blues, and country music, is currently experiencing a resurgence in popularity. The festival will be held April 12-15, 2012 and is sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Lewes Historical Society, Lewes in Bloom, City of Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission, the Zwaanendael Museum and the Historic Lewes Farmers Market. The image of the eagle has been an important icon in the history of the du Pont family. The du Pont family came to America on the ship “American Eagle," the DuPont Company's first product was Eagle Gun Powder, and decorative arts collected by Mrs. Louise du Pont Crowninshield were adorned with eagles, a common symbolic element in Federal-style furnishings. This exhibit is on display in the du Pont family ancestral home, Eleutherian Mills. Included in regular admission and tour. Free for members.… More
