The Delaware Tourism Office invites you to attend a book signing for “Landmarks and Legacies – Exploring Historic Delaware,” a journey in both word and image to 50 of the First State’s most prominent locations via the essays of Pam George and the photography of Kevin Fleming. Join park naturalists as they enjoy watching ospreys, herons, and egrets, nesting gulls, diamondback terrapins and other marine life. Participants will receive basic instruction on kayaking skills and safety. All boating equipment is provided. Thirty years after first frequenting the Back Porch Café as an aspiring artist, Pamella Bounds-Seemans will exhibit new paintings at the Rehoboth Beach restaurant from Friday, July 20 to Aug. 15. Bounds-Seemans, born and raised in Milton, is known for her acrylic paintings surrounded by a collage border and hand-painted frame. Bring a flashlight to assist you in spotting them as they scurry from side to side over the sand and on the beach in search of their evening meal. The image of the eagle has been an important icon in the history of the du Pont family. The du Pont family came to America on the ship “American Eagle," the DuPont Company's first product was Eagle Gun Powder, and decorative arts collected by Mrs. Louise du Pont Crowninshield were adorned with eagles, a common symbolic element in Federal-style furnishings.
