Visit Delaware Shuttle Program welcomes travelers

Every June, the state welcomes tens of thousands of visitors for a few days of music and the Woodlands. It is an opportunity to ensure they have a memorable visit to the state, which for some Firefly attendees may be their first to Delaware. Through innovative thinking and partnership among festival organizers and state organizations, the first-ever Visit Delaware Shuttle Program launched this year.

The program offered festival attendees an affordable, safe and easily accessible way to travel to and from the festival. In its first year of existence, the Visit Delaware Shuttle Program sold out! Through offering three lines with stops in Wilmington, Newark and the beaches, the idea of expanding the impact of the festival to surrounding regions in the state was a success. Each line included stops at various hotels as well as the Amtrak station. We are grateful to all of the hotel partners, festival organizers and local tourism organizations for working together to make the regional impact possible.

Visit Delaware Firefly Shuttle Program

The innovative shuttle program was made possible through the partnership of Visit Delaware, Delaware Office of Highway and Safety, Delaware Lottery and DART. Thank you to these incredible organizations for believing and supporting the program.

Not only was the shuttle program a success, butĀ each state agency partnered together to host the DE Hangout in the festival's south hub. Thousands of festival-goers were welcomed as they arrived and were able to interact with each agency'sĀ branded message, as well as Keep DE Litter Free. From safe-driving to making attendees aware of the public transportation offerings in the state, the DE Hangout was truly a must-visit space in the south hub!
