Bear down, and start your journey along the Delaware Beer, Wine and Spirits Trail in the town of Bear. The Go Ape! Zip Line and Treetop Adventure is an exciting way to see one of the state’s most beautiful spots, Lums Pond State Park. Then head over to Bear’s Stewart’s Brewing Company to celebrate your daredevil spirit with a nice pint and a bite to eat.
Next head for downtown Wilmington, which boasts a Riverfront area studded with restaurants and home to one of the trail’s stops -- Iron Hill Brewery. Grab a seat upstairs on the balcony for a view of the Christina River while you sip. Stay at the Westin, which is only a few football fields away. And speaking of fields, few things go together better than beer and baseball. Frawley Stadium, home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks, is just a stone’s throw away.
Hike along Brandywine Creek to see another of Delaware’s natural wonders, and you can stop at one of its industrial wonders. The Hagley Museum sits on the founding site of DuPont along the Brandywine. You’ll build up an appetite with all that walking, and nearby Pizza by Elizabeth's Frozen Toes Brewing, a stop on the trail, is the right place to fill your belly.
