"The American Eagle: Symbol of Freedom and Enterprise to the du Pont Family" exhibit at Hagley Museum and Library

The image of the eagle has been an important icon in the history of the du Pont family. The du Pont family came to America on the ship “American Eagle," the DuPont Company's first product was Eagle Gun Powder, and decorative arts collected by Mrs. Louise du Pont Crowninshield were adorned with eagles, a common symbolic element in Federal-style furnishings. This exhibit is on display in the du Pont family ancestral home, Eleutherian Mills. Included in regular admission and tour. Free for members. Bike to the Bay

Day-of registration from 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Cyclists can choose from four one-day rides: the 100-mile century, 75 miles, 45 miles, or 17 miles.  Or cyclists can challenge themselves to the two-day 150 or 175-mile route.  All the rides travel through scenic southern Delaware. For more information, call 302-655-5610.

Delaware Mud Run

The Delaware Mud Run is a five-kilometer race with boot camp-style obstacles. Participants will slip, slide, and slosh their way through a mud pit and tunnel, overtops walls, and across mud hills and hay mounds. Participants must be 14 years old or older to participate in the Delaware Mud Run. Children ages six to 13 are invited to take part in the 1.5-mile Delaware Mud Run, Jr. next June. Farmer and Foodie Festival
