“An Illegal Activity: The Underground Railroad in Delaware” exhibit at First State Heritage Park

The exhibit explores the First State's role in the pre-Civil War network
of secret routes and safe houses used by black slaves in the United
States to escape to free states and Canada with the aid of abolitionists
and allies who were sympathetic to their cause.
"Trains and Planes" exhibit at the Air Mobility Command Museum

The Air Mobility Command Museum will host a holiday display of garden scale train layouts with three trains operating at the same time. Authentic sound and includes both diesel and steam-era trains. Open daily, free of charge.

Holidays at the Amstel and Dutch Houses in Historic New Castle, DE

The Amstel House will be decorated for a traditional holiday celebration
in colonial times, showing off a “dessert board” of the period, and
featuring traditional 18th century customs during the period of Governor
Nicholas Van Dyke’s residency. At the Dutch House, experience a
celebration of St. Nichols’ Eve, a tribute to the legend of Saint
Nicholas, Dutch patron saint. Included with regular admission to the
museums.
Yuletide at Winterthur

Annual Holiday Art Market at the Newark Arts Alliance

local artists is guaranteed to be unique and to make your loved ones

batik and window ornaments.
Nemours Mansion & Gardens Holiday Tours

The estate is decorated with a gingerbread house of the mansion,
Christmas trees, paper filigree quilling, original toys, ornaments and
more. A guided tour reveals a treasure trove of fine European and
American furniture, rare rugs, tapestries, and outstanding works of art.
Following the house tour visitors are taken on a guided bus tour
through the Gardens. One of the finest examples of French-style gardens
in America, it extends one third of a mile along the main vista from the
house. The Gardens are exquisitely landscaped with fountains, pools,
and statuary surrounded by natural woodlands.
