A special new exhibition in the Delaware History Museum, "Forging Faith, Building Freedom: African American Faith Experiences in Delaware, 1800-1980," celebrating two important anniversaries. The exhibition will be open to the public from September 27 through summer 2014.

The exhibit explores the First State's role in the pre-Civil War network of secret routes and safe houses used by black slaves in the United States to escape to free states and Canada with the aid of abolitionists and allies who were sympathetic to their cause.

The Green Room will host a four-course Downton Abbey Dinner, on January 11, with live entertainment and white-glove service to help set the tone. Special guests Tom Savage (Director of Museum Affairs at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library), Maggie Lidz (Estate Historian), and Nat Caccamo and Amy Marks Delaney (Exhibition Designers) will be in attendance to share details regarding Winterthur's upcoming exhibition, "Costumes of Downtown Abbey", which opens March 1, 2014. Dinner is $100 per person, inclusive of gratuity, wine pairings, and valet parking.
