Discover the darker side of history by taking the only ghost tour of Old New Castle that brings you inside one of New Castle’s most haunted mansions - The Amstel House! After exploring the legendary Amstel House you’ll venture out into the dark, cool night to search for other New Castle myths and tales of the supernatural. Mixed in along with the stories will be plenty of New Castle history – including mourning customs of the time, funerary practices and the history of capitol punishment. Advance reservations required.

24th Annual Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddler's Festival

Join the festivities with the Sea Witch Parade and Costume Contest. Plus, a Fiddlers Contest with prizes awarded in Banjo, Fiddle, and Bluegrass categories, the Sea Witch Cottage and Heritage Craft Shows at the Rehoboth Outlets and Rehoboth Beach Bandstand, and a Best Costumed Pet Contest for Dogs, Cats, and Other Pets.

The Underground Railroad in Delaware – Exhibit at First State Heritage Park
Friday (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.); Saturday (9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.); Sunday (1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
Planned and created by the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs in partnership with the Underground Railroad Coalition of Delaware, the exhibit explores the First State's role in the pre-Civil War network of secret routes and safe houses used by black slaves in the United States to escape to free states and Canada with the aid of abolitionists and allies who were sympathetic to their cause.

Hayrides at Hagley

Families can take a hayride along the Brandywine to experience the beautiful fall foliage in the Powder Yard. Visitors can see a gunpowder explosion, the roll mill in action, and working nineteenth-century machines. Included with admission, free for members. Participants will have a chance to investigate four of The Lewes Historical Society's historic buildings including the Cannonball House, Burton Ingram, Rabbits Ferry, and the Old Doctor's Office for ghostly beings. In this 3-hour program, participants will learn about paranormal entities and the tools used to explore paranormal activity.
