The course meanders through four miles of salt marsh creeks where heat, wind, and tide are all factors that can make it a challenge, even for the experienced paddler. Park staff will be stationed throughout the course to discuss wildlife and local history, as well as to provide water and snacks to participants. At the end of the course, kayakers will be presented a certificate of completion, and photo opportunities will be available. A food truck will also be on hand with food for purchase.

Nearly two dozen environmental organizations from throughout Delaware and the Brandywine Valley will convene at Winterthur in a celebration of the environment and nature. The day will include hikes, workshops, lectures, and demonstrations for environmentalists of all ages offered by a wide range of environmental and conservation organizations.

Delaware Burger Battle

Each year in late summer, Delaware burger enthusiasts and a field of competitive chefs come together for a fierce yet friendly competition in a family picnic setting. The all-inclusive ticket allows guests to try all the burgers, and enjoy adult beverages and soft drinks, as well as music and activities.
