Wilmington Grand Prix

Three-day cycling celebration featuring pro-am racers, street festival, course-side cafes, wellness expo and free family attractions such as BMX stunt show, rock walls, obstacle course and more. The Wilmington Grand Prix is one of the premier races on the East Coast and a stop of USA Cycling national pro cycling tour.

Baldcypress Bluegrass Festival

Five bands from across the mid-Atlantic region will be performing at this year’s Baldcypress Bluegrass Festival. The festival grounds are in Sussex County, on the scenic Roman Fisher Farm at the edge of the Great Cypress Swamp, the largest contiguous forest on the Delmarva Peninsula. Five bands with music all day long, craft brews & wines, food trucks, craft vendors, exhibits and lawn games as well as tours of the Great Cypress Swamp.

Peonies & Primroses

Winterthur’s peonies and primroses will be in full flower as we celebrate the late spring display in the Winterthur Garden. The day will start with a lecture given by two longtime Winterthur staff, Director of Interpretation & Estate Historian Jeff Groff and Director of Horticulture & Curator of Plants Linda Eirhart. Afterward, there will be a special walking tour of both the peony and quarry gardens.

This exhibition presents the work of iconic American photographer, Ansel Adams. His work can be viewed as the end of an arc of American art concerned with capturing the “sublime” in the unspoiled Western landscape: a tradition that includes several painters on view within the Biggs Museum including Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Cole.
