The 2017 OperaDelaware Festival is a celebration of the 225th anniversary of Rossini's birth. The festival will include La Cenerentola (Rossini's popular setting of Cinderella) and his rarely-performed tragedy, Semiramide. The 2017 festival will once again bring opera fans from near and far. Our innovative “Inside the Opera Studio” series and “Sunday Artist Spotlight” programs continue to build audiences here at home. Whether you are new to opera or a life-long fan, OperaDelaware has something for you this season.

Dover Days

The 84th Annual Dover Days Festival is one of the largest, longest-running, free, popular events in the state of Delaware dedicated to promoting the heritage and culture of Dover and the state of Delaware. Dover Days hosts the largest parade in Dover with approximately 4,500 participants and watched by approximately 9,000 people; the Governor of the state of Delaware serves as the Grand Marshal.

Biggs Museum of American Art

This exhibition presents the work of iconic American photographer, Ansel Adams. His work can be viewed as the end of an arc of American art concerned with capturing the “sublime” in the unspoiled Western landscape: a tradition that includes several painters on view within the Biggs Museum including Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Cole.

Lewes Merchants Spring Sidewalk Sale

Whose Live Anyway?

WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY? is 90 minutes of hilarious improvised comedy and song all based on audience suggestions. Cast members Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Audience participation is key to the show so bring your suggestions and you might be asked to join the cast onstage!

We’re teaming up with Old Inlet Bait & Tackle Shop to celebrate 50 years of fishing in the park during their Spring Surf Fishing Tournament. Stop by the tournament sign-in table or the awards ceremony to check out the growing DSSP “Family Scrapbook” and evolving Park History Exhibit. Bring your own family fishing photos and personal stories of the park to share with park staff – your memories could be featured in future Park History Exhibits!

Birds of Bellevue

If you've never had a chance to experience the world-class bird-watching available at Delaware's coastal wildlife preserves, this event is a great way to check it out (and possibly win some prizes). Structured much like a walk-a-thon, the fundraiser challenges participants to count the number of different bird species seen (or heard) in a 24-hour period.
