John James Audubon and His Influence Today at the Biggs Museum of American Art

In 1826 at the age of 41, encouraged by his wife, Audubon took his portfolio of 300+ works to England. Today, more than ever his work endures and segments of his work are right here at the Biggs in Dover. This exhibition examines the importance of the artist and naturalist, John James Audubon, through a large exhibition of his earliest works from both the Birds of America and Viviparous Quadropeds publications.

St. Hedwig Polish Festival

 Join for a golden (retriever) filled weekend. What could be better than to enjoy the fun an d the sun on Dewey’s dog-friendly beaches with your best fur-friends! Previous years brought close to 200 goldens running blissfully free on the beach, chasing tennis balls and swimming together in the surf. A bit of Heaven for everyone to witness!

Delmarva Paddling Weekend

Meet at Memorial Park in Milton and load the van for a shuttle to Oyster Rocks for a one-way back, ~10-mile paddle with the incoming tide on the Broadkill River. We’ll kayak through an expansive salt marsh that transitions into forested headwaters teeming with herons, osprey and basking turtles.
