Home of the new First State National Historic Park, New Castle lends itself perfectly to walks down shaded sidewalks, peeking now and then into the town’s immaculately tended gardens, and being sure to stroll along the Delaware River in scenic Battery Park. The past of Delaware also beckons in Historic New Castle, inviting visitors to tour Colonial-period homes such as Dutch House and Amstel House, or visit the Old New Castle Court House, or just snap a few photos of picturesque Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green.
