It’s no accident that seafood restaurants are so plentiful on the Delaware Culinary Trail. For generations, the state’s restaurants (and its people) have held a reverence for the gifts they receive from ocean and bay – the oysters and clams, the blue-claw crabs and flounder, the sweet sea bass and the cod.
Some restaurants work to maintain local seafood traditions – places like Big Fish Grill, DeFebo’s, Sambo’s Tavern. Others take a more inventive or international approach – places like Cultured Pearl and Bluecoast and Striper Bites. All of them treat seafood the way it should be treated – with simplicity, and with respect.
