Discover the Trail
The Delaware History Trail will guide you through the historical crossroads of our great nation. From the meeting place of the Leni Lenape Indians to the site where Delaware was the first to ratify the U.S. Constitution, you will experience a celebration of historic architecture, beautiful estates and one-of-a-kind museums. As you travel back in time, you will become acquainted with Delaware’s early settlers, influential patriots and pioneers who fought for the ideals of our nation, and the creative minds driving the Industrial Revolution.
Within the boundaries of our state, your quest along the Delaware History Trail will allow you to explore centuries worth of history while driving from gorgeous country sides to award-winning beaches. We invite you to rediscover the path Delaware has taken during the most significant historic moments of our state and nation.
Below is a complete listing of the 36 sites featured on the Delaware History Trail including; a brief site description, address and contact information. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you may also visit additional historical sites in Delaware known as our “Fabulous Fiftteen” (please note that these locations do not count towards completing the Delaware History Trail). As Delaware locations are reopening, please note that capacity requirement may be in place. Please utilize the amenities tab on the left side of this page to view listings according to their current services and operations. Some may require reservations or have special hours so please review location information before visiting.
Please remember to pack a face covering and hand sanitizer. As well as, remember to social distance and stay home if you're sick.
