This hour and a half hike is perfect for beginners to experienced birders. Come catch a glimpse of the many diverse kinds of birds that call Yorklyn their home. You'll check blue bird boxes at the Auburn Valley Loop Trail and look for Purple Martins at the NVF site under the guidance of experienced birder Charles Shattuck owner of Wild Birds unlimited! Charles will help bring the birding world of Auburn Valley to life as he shows us how to provide proper nesting locations, their behavioral patterns and more. The hike will also keep an eye out for hawks, eagles and other birds of prey who have taken up residency at the NVF site. Binoculars provided, but feel free to bring your own. Wear comfortable shoes and meet at the Paper Mill Parking Lot on Benge Road. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Book your spot by calling 302-239-5687.
