Delmarva Paddling Weekends
Enjoy an autumn paddling experience in Nanticoke Country, from the heart of Laurel, Delaware, to historic Phillips Landing. This sojourn will cover close to 7 miles of Broad Creek on an outgoing tide. Along the way, your guide will help you identify the plants and animals of the creek, including Baldcypress, Wild Rice, Bald Eagles, Wood Ducks, and more. You’ll learn about the 1904 train wreck of the Norfolk Express, and the world-famous sailing rams built in Bethel, DE, in the 19th century. We’ll also follow in the Nanticoke wake of two historic luminaries, Captain John Smith and Harriet Tubman.
