In this interactive program children (ages 6+) will discover remarkable African-Americans from Delaware who achieved personal greatness and expanded opportunities for others. What were the keys to their success? How did their personal philosophies, evidenced by their actions, inspire them to break barriers and overcome obstacles? The Delaware History Museum exhibitions, Discover Delaware and Journey to Freedom , serve as a backdrop for young people to portray church and community leaders, freedom-seekers, athletes, artists and others. Participants will be able to engage and explore black Delaware history by stepping into the shoes of influential men and women of African descent in the 19 th and 20 th centuries. Included with museum admission: Adults: $6.00 Seniors (65+)/Military/Student (with i.d.): $5.00 Children (3-18): $4.00 On-street parking is FREE on weekends. FREE PARKING is also available courtesy of Colonial Parking on the corner of 6th and Shipley streets.
