Wilmington Riverfront

The Tall Ship of Delaware returns to the Wilmington Riverfront with dockside tales by the Kalmar Nyckel captains and mates just in time for July 4th from 12-4pm and Saturday July 11, 18 and 25. This free community event offers social-distanced outdoor fun and a chance to learn about the ship from the people who sail it (with several talks per hour). Pick up Riverfront and Kalmar Nyckel scavenger hunts to search for cultural treasures at your own pace. The ship will be docked on the Riverwalk at 550 Justison St. (adjacent to the Delaware Children’s Museum). Ship appearances are weather dependent; visit KalmarNyckel.org for rain dates. Due to COVID-19, visitors cannot tour or sail on the ship this summer. Watch for Kalmar Nyckel sails in the fall. This program is made possible by Kenny Family ShopRite Stores, Diamond State Recycling, PNC Bank, and the City of Wilmington.
