Delaware's Tall Ship: Kalmar Nyckel Sailing Trips

Next Event:
Saturday, September 30, 2023

Come sail with us! Kalmar Nyckel, the state of Delaware's tall ship, offers river cruises, day and evening sails, and appearances from April through October each sailing season. The original Kalmar Nyckel was one of America's pioneering colonial ships. Known as the Swedish Mayflower of the Delaware Valley, she brought the settlers who founded the colony of New Sweden in 1638 and established Fort Christina, the first permanent European settlement in the Delaware Valley.
Launched in 1997, Kalmar Nyckel is the official Tall Ship of Delaware and a recognizable icon for its home state. Our ship serves as a catalyst for educational, social, and economic development in Delaware and beyond.
