Elsie Williams Doll Collection
Elsie Williams was the wife of US Senator John "Whispering Willie" Williams, native of Millsboro, Delaware. During her travels around the United States and abroad with her husband, she developed an extensive collection of dolls from around the world. In 1990, she donated the original collection valued at about $100,000. More than 600 dolls are on display in the Stephen J. Betze Library on the Owens Campus of Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown, each handmade and unique. This rare collection is a must see for history enthusiasts and avid collectors.
