Fort Miles Historic Area
Set among the dunes near Cape Henlopen, where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean, this was one of our nation’s most important East Coast defensive fortifications during World War II. Guided tours by uniformed interpreters and opportunities to climb a concrete spotting tower offering scenic vistas of the seascape and surrounding areas are just two of the many activities which make this such a special place to visit.
