The Northern Delaware Greenway Trail is a shared-use trail spanning northern New Castle County, with portions traversing several state/county parks. Experience piedmont forests and streams, open spaces, historic features, and recreation areas. Connecting pathways lead from Rockland Road to West Park Drive, Augustine Cut-Off to West Park Drive and Rockford Road to Hill Road.
Hours of Operation: Park Office: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. Park Areas including NDG: 8 a.m.-sunset
Seasonal Hours: Park Office: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Fri., Dec. 1-Feb. 28
Best Time to Visit: Seasonal beauty year round.
Best Known For: Walking, hiking, bike trails, bird-watching, rock climbing, can-do playground. Blue Ball Barn is home to the Delaware Folk Art Collection.
Travel Tips: Pick up a trail map at the Blue Ball Barn office. Public restrooms available at the Blue Ball Barn and Alapocas Run State Park Comfort Station can-do playground.
Special Equipment: For rock climbing, safety gear is not supplied and a climbing permit is required. Obtain at park office.
Special Instructions: Park hours are 8 a.m.-sunset. Entrance fees in effect March 1-Nov. 30.
