Tilton Mansion

The Tilton Mansion was originally home to Dr. James Tilton, who was a famous Delaware citizen known for crossing the Delaware River with George Washington as well as being the first U.S. Army Surgeon General. Tilton purchased the home and set about its candidacy for the nation’s capital. Today the mansion exists as a fine dining club for members, families, and guests of the University and Whist Club.
