What are the best places to park at the beach and how much does it cost?
The Parkmobile app allows you to pay-by-phone at metered spaces in Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Lewes or Bethany Beach. Parking is free at the Lewes Transit Center and $10 at the Rehoboth Beach Park & Ride. The fee includes up to four all-day transit passes on DART Beach Bus.

Is there fee to use the beach?
The municipal beaches are free. Admission to Delaware State Parks with ocean beaches (Cape Henlopen, Delaware Seashore and Fenwick Island state parks) is $5 for Delaware residents and $10 for non-residents.
What hours are the beaches open?
Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach are open from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. Lewes is open from 6 a.m. to midnight. Fenwick Island is open 24 hours.
Where can I rent beach chairs and umbrellas?
Each beach offers on-the-sand opportunities and some hotels rent chairs and umbrellas. Beach umbrellas are also available in state parks, including Visit Delaware umbrellas at Delaware Seashore State Park.
Can I bring my dog on the beach?
Yup! Here is some info about walking on the beach with your dog:
- Dewey Beach allows dogs on the beach except for between 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the summer season of May 15 through Sept. 15. A town dog license is required.
- Rehoboth Beach and Fenwick Island prohibit dogs on the beach from May 1 through Sept. 30.
- Lewes prohibits dogs on the beach from May 1 to Sept. 30 during the hours of 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Are bonfires allowed on the beach?
Dewey Beach has public bonfires on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dewey Beach, Lewes and Fenwick Island allow private bonfires with a permit.
Can I drive on the beach?
Delaware State Parks are great for driving on the beach for surf fishing. They even offer beach-driving classes throughout the summer.
Can I camp on the beach?
Delaware Seashore State Park and Cape Henlopen State Park have campgrounds near the Atlantic Ocean.
Can I use a tent on the beach?
Umbrellas are available for rental at most beaches. Some beaches have restrictions on tents and canopies. Check the website of the town you’re visiting for details.
Can I smoke on the beach?
Smoking is prohibited on the beaches at Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Fenwick Island as well as in Delaware State Parks.
Can I drink alcohol on the beach?
Take a break from the sun and enjoy the air conditioning at a bar or even a brewery right off the sand. Alcohol is prohibited on the beaches themselves.
Can I hold my wedding on the beach?

What’s happening during the beach replenishment for Summer 2018?
You can have plenty of fun while the important replenishment project along Bethany Beach, South Bethany and Fenwick Island is underway. Less than 1,000 feet of beach will be closed at a time, and beachgoers have the rest of the beach available.
