Alapocas Run State Park:

A picturesque getaway great for hiking and biking along the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail, as well as rock climbing. Step back in time at the Blue Ball Barn for history on the area and a tour of the Delaware Folk Art Collection.

Auburn Valley State Park:

Hike the barn trail and discover the history of the Marshall Family. You can also travel back in time to learn about steam power with Marshall Steam Museum's Steamin' Days.

Bellevue State Park:

Take a tour of Bellevue Hall which features picturesque views of historic estate or hike the Bellevue Woods Nature Preserve with it’s large meadows and flowing creek.

Brandywine Creek State Park:

Explore the state’s first two natures preserves while hiking along the iconic stone walls that divide up the park.

Brandywine Zoo:

As Delaware’s only zoo, and a landmark in Wilmington, Brandywine Zoo features exotic and endangered animals as well as educational programs for families to get up-close-and-personal with the animals.

Cape Henlopen State Park

Beaches meet history at Cape Henlopen State Park, where you can hike, bike, swim and sunbathe on the coast or check out historic Fort Miles. The park is also home to a Nature Center and campgrounds for those looking to pitch a tent or rent a cabin.

Delaware Seashore State Park

With six miles of ocean and bay shoreline to explore there’s plenty to do in this southern state park. Kayak on the Rehoboth Bay, cast a line on the Indian River Inlet, or tour the Indian River Life-Saving Station.

Lums Pond State Park

Take to the trees with Go Ape! Treetop Adventure to make your way through a course of rope ladders, treetop crossings, and ziplines that soar over the pond. And for those looking to stay grounded, you can hike the Swamp Forest Trail or bike several trails for all skill-levels.

Rockford Park

Climb the park's century-old stone water tower for a striking view into the heart of Wilmington. 

Trap Pond State Park

Kayak through a forest of baldycypress trees, wander along the wooded 4.9 mile Boundary Trail that travels around the pond, or camp beneath towering pines in a tent, cabin, or yurt.

White Clay Creek State Park:

With over 37 miles of trails to explore by bike or foot, White Clay Creek State Park is home to a diverse trail system for hikes of all abilities. The park is also home a local favorite 18-hole disc golf course as well as the creek itself which is the most heavily stocked water in the state, ideal for fly fishing.
