Colder weather brings a cozier sort of charm to the Delaware beaches, where hotels like the Bellmoor Inn & Spa embrace the plush life 365 days a year. Considered the best-designed hotel in Delaware, the Bellmoor is steps from great shopping, dining and nightlife, and offers top-notch spa pampering on premises. Regal touches abound including beds topped with plump pillows, a richly decorated sitting area, and even marble-tiled bathrooms with hydrotherapy tubs.

Travel down the sand a ways and arrive at the beachfront Bed & Breakfast Addy Sea. Built in 1904, the Addy Sea offers 12 unique rooms in a historic, intimate setting for a weekend getaway full of exploration and beautiful views. Unwind at their wine or bourbon pairing dinners, where you can enjoy a five course meal, discover new beloved flavors, and  be soothed by the acoustics of live music. Be sure to wake up in time for the sunrise, as the views of the crashing waves are absolutely breathtaking.

For those looking for more of an off-centered experience look no further than the unique Dogfish Inn on the beautiful Lewes Harbor. This playful and cozy spot welcomes beer, and nature lovers alike. Take delight in sitting fireside building the perfect smore, or hopping on one of their beach-cruisers for a stroll through historic Lewes. It’s almost certain that while there you will want to visit the Dogfish Head brewpub in nearby Rehoboth Beach for dinner, and the production brewery in Milton for tastings and tours.

Moving up to Central Delaware, you can camp in comfort and connect with your outdoorsy side by staying at a modern cabin at Killens Pond State Park. These family-style cabins sleep four and come complete with a shower, efficiency kitchen and air conditioning. Cabins are available year round and  the ideal socially distant way to get out of the house.

Find homestyle charm comes with an air of refinement at the Causey Mansion Bed & Breakfast in Milford, constructed in 1763 featuring period lighting, décor, and a widow’s walk.  Within walking distance of downtown, this spot entices guests to stroll and dine. For a sweet treat be sure to stop by My Sisters Fault for puerto rican inspired favorites.

The Hotel DuPont in Wilmington will fill you with warmth as soon as you step through the doors and into the gilded, richly appointed interior. Relax at the intimate hotel bar before indulging yourself at the hotel’s regal restaurant Le Cavalier, or have your thoughtfully sourced meal delivered right to your room. Head out on the town for a walk underneath the city lights, and cheers to the weekend at Stitch House Brewery or Makers Alley.

For a more scenic stay, try the Inn at Montchanin which can be likened to a village rather than a hotel with its private cottages. Enjoy fabulous dining at Krazy Kat’s and unwind at the in-house spa. With only a short drive, you’ll be able to experience the splendor of Delaware’s majestic estates like Hagley Museum and Yuletide at Winterthur.
