  • July 4th Ship Tours (July 4 – Wilmington): For a sense of history and adventure, take a free tour of the Kalmar Nyckel’s ship deck. Tours of “The Tall Ship of Delaware” will be available from 3 to 7 p.m. 

  • Wilmington Blue Rocks Independence Day Celebration (July 3 – Wilmington): For an early Independence Day celebration, catch a Wilmington Blue Rocks game and cheer on the local minor league team! 

  • Living History on Independence Day (July 4 – Dover): Celebrate Independence Day the Colonial Way with interpreters at the John Bell House to see historic trades and take a Revolutionary Dover tour. Tours will be available between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and make plans to stop by Legislative Hall for a tour of the Capitol building between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. 

  • Smyrna Clayton Annual 4th of July Celebration (July 4 - Smyrna): An impressive parade alternates its route between Smyrna and Clayton on or about the morning of July 4th. This is followed by many activities and exhibits in Municipal Park. In the evening, the association hosts one of the largest fireworks shows on Delmarva at the park.

  • Lewes Celebrates 4th of July (July 4 – Lewes): Old-fashioned children’s games will be available on Second Street for kids (and adults) of all ages! Afterwards, head to the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal for the annual Independence Day Lewes Boat Parade!

  • Hockessin 4th Festival and Fireworks (July 4 - Hockessin): After watching Hockessin’s 4th of July parade, view an amazing fireworks display at dusk! 

  • Liberty Day and 4th of July Fireworks (July 4 – Newark): Visit the University of Delaware Athletic Complex for fireworks! Before the fireworks begin, explore various vendors and enjoy live entertainment. 

  • Dover Fourth of July Celebration (July 4 – Dover): Visit Delaware’s capital for a special 4th of July experience! Between a parade, vendors, bounce houses and more, this event has it all! 

  • Go Fourth (July 4 – Lewes): The countdown is on for the annual fireworks launch off Lewes Beach! View the fireworks as their brilliant colors reflect off of the Delaware Bay’s waters. 

  • Red, White and ‘ooh’ (July 6 – Rehoboth Beach): If you haven’t gotten enough fireworks, visit Rehoboth Beach for a fireworks show two days after Independence Day! You can view the fireworks from the beach or the boardwalk. 

  • 4th of July Celebration (July 4 – Bethany Beach): After a day of parades, awards and a concert, fireworks will begin at dusk. Don’t miss this celebration of freedom, family and fun! 

  • Dewey Beach 4th of July (July 4 – Dewey Beach): The revelry will be well under way at this rockin’ beach town by the time the fireworks go off at around 9 p.m. The display will launch from a barge in the bay in front of Northbeach/ Ivy, two blocks from the Rusty Rudder, and will be visible throughout town.
