The annual Halloween Ghost Ship transforms the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation’s Wilmington riverfront campus into a family-friendly spooky celebration. Visitors can climb aboard the historic Kalmar Nyckel for special tours, hear ghost stories, and explore the ship with a Halloween twist. The event also features pumpkin painting, trick-or-treating, face painting, spooky touch tanks, a costume parade, and other family-friendly activities. Save the date for October 17 from noon to 4 p.m., with free admission and parking; some activities may cost extra. 
     

  3. Visit Rehoboth Beach from October 23-25 to experience the 36th annual Sea Witch Festival. Enjoy the free 3-day celebration, which turns the town into the perfect Halloween playground with family-friendly activities. Enjoy live music, artisans and vendors, hayrides, the Sea Witch Hunt, and more. The iconic Sea Witch Costume Parade is held on October 24, and you don’t want to miss it! 
     

  4. When looking for an activity that will have the hair on the back of your neck standing up, book a 3-hour paranormal adventure at Fort Delaware State Park led by Diamond State Ghost Investigators. During the tour, visitors explore the fort's historic and reportedly haunted areas using special equipment. This is a great activity to book because, rain or shine, you will have a spooky time.
