Have a Frightfully Fun Halloween in Delaware

It’s almost the eerie end of October, and that means it’s time to get your scare on! There’s plenty of frightful and fun Halloween events in Delaware this fall, from ghost tours to paranormal adventures. So, wait until dark, put on a brave face and head out for some scary adventures in Delaware. 

Northern Delaware 

A Haunted Victorian Walk, Wilmington 
Fridays & Saturdays in October 

  • Wander the dramatically lit garden paths of this haunted mansion and be ready to feel some chills as you read hand-written ghost stories. 

Halloween Ghost Ship, Wilmington 
Oct. 19 

  • Enjoy some spooky fun with family-friendly ghost tours of the Tall Ship of Delaware, the 141-foot Kalmar Nyckel. Also, enjoy crafts, pumpkin painting and more! 

Halloween Express, Wilmington 
Oct. 27 

  • All aboard this vintage train! Pack a lunch and enjoy the fall foliage as it passes by. The Railroad Witch may even make an appearance during your ride. 

Boo at the Zoo, Wilmington 
Oct. 18 - 20 

  • The Brandywine Zoo will be decked out for this fun event of treats and activities. Be sure to wear your costume for the animals! 

Halloween at Hagley, Wilmington 
Oct. 26 

  • Visit this elegant museum to trick-or-treat in a safe place with beautiful surroundings.  

Tram & Treat, Wilmington 
Oct. 26 

  • Dress your goblins and ghosts in their Halloween finest and come trick-or-treating in a garden of crafts, games and music. 

Hauntings in History Walking Tours, Historic New Castle 
Fridays & Saturdays in October & Early November 

  • Stroll the cobblestone streets of this charming old town and hear tales of hauntings, Victorian funeral customs, and crime and punishment practices in this 370-year-old city. 

Paranormal Adventure, Delaware City 
Fridays & Saturdays in October 

  • Grab tickets before they sell out! This popular paranormal investigation of one of Delaware’s most haunted places uses magnetic field detectors and data recorders to find supernatural vibes. 

Frightland, Middletown 
Weekends Throughout Fall 

  • This award-winning haunted scream park features eight unique attractions, including a haunted house, hayride and more.

Wicked Woods, Wyoming 
Fridays & Saturdays in October 

  • Be ready for some chills as you wander the scary trails of the haunted woods at Wicked R. Western Productions. 

Boo! at the Zoo, Clayton 
Fridays & Saturdays in October 

  • Oh, no! The 3 Palms Zoo has become haunted! Watch your step in the graveyard, and be prepared for a few ghosts and ghouls (along with some cuddly nocturnal critters)! 

Haunted Dover Lantern Tours, Downtown Dover 
Sept. 27, Oct. 11 & Oct. 18 

  • Witness the true stories of murders, and encounter characters whose legends have left their sinister imprint on The Green.

Southern Delaware 

Historic Haunts, Milton 
Oct. 1 

  • Take a walk on the paranormal side with Delmarva Historic Haunts as you explore haunted locations in Milton, including the museum, old drug store and former jailhouse. 

Milton Zombie Fest, Milton 
Oct. 19 

  • Join Milton Theatre for a night of ghastly delights including bone-chilling family activities, sinister costume contests, haunting entertainment and eerie-themed treats. 

Haunted Histories Paranormal Tour, Lewes 
Oct. 1, Oct. 14, Nov. 3 & Nov. 18 

  • The seaside town of Lewes is full of scary tales, and you’ll hear about the horror and see where they happened on this two-hour tour. 

Children’s Fantasy Trail, Lewes 
Oct. 25 – 26 

  • Wear your best costume and trick-or-treat amongst your favorite storybook characters along a jack-o-lantern lined trail. Afterwards, enjoy live entertainment! 

Schellville's Wicked Brew Bash, Rehoboth Beach 
Oct. 19 

  • With various fall festivities, Schellville’s Wicked Brew Bash will have more chilly brews than thrills and chills at this adults-only event featuring local breweries, music and plenty of amazing food trucks and artisans. 

Sea Witch Festival, Rehoboth Beach 
Oct. 25 - 27 

  • The streets along the seaside fill with hundreds of witches, monsters, zombies and other characters at this family-friendly community event promising a spooky & spectacular October! Don't miss the Costume Parade and the Dog Costume Parade, and keep an eye out for magic shows, pony rides, Halloween-themed scavenger hunts and lots of musical performances on the Bandstand. Be sure to stop by Candy Kitchen for some sweet treats! ​

Wags, Witches & Warlocks, Bethany Beach 

Oct. 26 

  • Stroll Bethany Beach and admire the Storefront Decorating Contest! Then, enjoy a Halloween parade, a costume contest and Halloween crafts, and don’t forget to stop by the pet adoptions.
