Have a Frightfully Fun Halloween in Delaware

It’s almost the eerie end of October, and that means it’s time for spooky season! There’s plenty of frightful and fun Halloween events in Delaware this fall, from ghost tours to paranormal adventures. So, wait until dark, put on a brave face and head out for some scary adventures in Delaware. 

Northern Delaware 

A Haunted Victorian Walk, Wilmington 
Oct. 24 & 25 

  • Join this lamplit tour through Rockwood's historic gardens while guides tell never-before-heard ghost stories. Experience true Gothic traditional handwritten storytelling at its finest - with a mix of history and a dark dollop of the macabre. Enter if you dare!

Halloween at Hagley, Wilmington 
Oct. 25 

  • Visit this elegant museum to trick-or-treat in a safe place with beautiful surroundings.  

Tram & Treat, Wilmington 
Oct. 25 

  • Dress your goblins and ghosts in their Halloween finest and come trick-or-treating in a garden of crafts, games and music. 

Dracula: A Gothic Ballet of Love and Shadows, Wilmington
Oct. 25 & 26

  • Based on the novel by Irish author Bram Stoker, with choreography by the acclaimed Viktor Plotnikov, this ballet will haunt audiences well after the performance concludes.

Hauntings in History Walking Tours, Historic New Castle 
Oct. 24 & 25 

  • Explore New Castle's dark past through ghost stories, folklore, and true historical accounts that will make you shiver with fright! Included is a tour of New Castle's most famous haunted house - the Amstel House - where you just may meet the resident spirit....The Lady in Blue!

Hayride Express, Wilmington
Oct. 30 & 31 and Nov. 1 & 2

  • Enjoy a crisp fall evening aboard an original railroad flatcar converted especially for hayrides. The 40 minute round-trip rolls up the Red Clay Valley , with unobstructed views of moonlit fields, rocky cuts and creek banks.

Frightland, Middletown 
Weekends Throughout Fall 

  • This award-winning haunted scream park features eight unique attractions, including a haunted house, hayride, and more.

Wicked Woods, Wyoming 
Fridays & Saturdays in October 

  • Be ready for some chills as you wander the scary trails of the haunted woods at Wicked R. Western Productions. 

Boo! at the Zoo, Clayton 
Fridays & Saturdays until Nov. 1 

  • Oh, no! The 3 Palms Zoo has become haunted! Watch your step in the graveyard, and be prepared for a few ghosts and ghouls (along with some cuddly nocturnal critters)! 

Haunted Dover Lantern Tours, Downtown Dover 
Oct. 24

  • Witness the true stories of murders, and encounter characters whose legends have left their sinister imprint on The Green. 

Fifer Orchards

Southern Delaware 

Sea Witch Festival, Rehoboth Beach 
Oct. 24 - 26 

  • The streets along the seaside fill with hundreds of witches, monsters, zombies and other characters at this family-friendly community event promising a spooky & spectacular October! Don't miss the Costume Parade and the Dog Costume Parade, and keep an eye out for magic shows, pony rides, Halloween-themed scavenger hunts and lots of musical performances on the Bandstand. This year's theme is "Fangtastic" so be sure to bring your best vampire teeth!

Brews, Boos, & Broomsticks, Georgetown
Oct. 25

  • Enjoy costume contests for all ages (and pets!), trick-or-treating, a fall market, pumpkin patch, face painting, petting zoo, live music, food trucks, and more. Costumes encouraged for all!

The Rocky Horror Show: Live, Milton
Oct. 22 - 26

  • This sensational show has attracted quite a following, and it’s no wonder why. With its blend of rock and roll, sci-fi, and cheeky humor, the “Rocky Horror Show” has captivated audiences for decades, and now it’s your turn to experience the magic!

Wags, Witches & Warlocks, Bethany Beach 
Oct. 25 

  • Enjoy a Halloween parade, a costume contest and Halloween crafts plus puppy yoga and shelter pet adoptions. You just might go home with a new furry friend!
