- What is the story behind Klondike Kate's and The Sleigh Bar?
Since 1979, Klondike Kate’s has been the heart of Main Street, offering a welcoming spot for celebrations, nights out, group gatherings, or simply a quick drink along the way. The Sleigh Bar was founded in 2019 by Nick Manerchia, our Director of Marketing and Creative Events. Inspired by Philadelphia’s Tinsel and his love for the magic of Disney World, Nick brought his vision to life with The Sleigh Bar!

What makes us truly unique is that we’re more than just a restaurant and bar—we’re a small venue where some of life’s most memorable moments happen. From baby showers and bridal showers to first birthdays and 70th birthdays, wedding rehearsal dinners, and even a few weddings, we host it all. We’re the spot for first dates, anniversaries, and parents’ weekend brunches. We’re also a place where people start their careers, discovering a passion for hospitality, cooking, or mixology!
The Sleigh Bar truly speaks for itself the moment you walk in the door! Now in its 7th year, no two years have ever looked the same. Every year, true blood, sweat, and happy tears go into creating the final result. The Martuscelli Restaurant Group team handles all the planning, decorating, and execution, and we take immense pride in it! Our food and drink menu evolves each year—keeping some favorites while introducing new items to keep things fresh. With each year, we add a little more pizazz! There is no other place quite like The Sleigh Bar in Newark, Delaware.

The Sleigh Bar is our “something special” for the winter and holiday season, and it’s open every day! Santa visits every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Jack Skellington and the Grinch make their appearances on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

We are at 158 East Main Street, Newark, Del. 19711. We are open 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
