Hot Toddy: Dogfish Head Distilling
Want a drink that’ll really warm you up this winter? Break out this recipe for an off-centered hot toddy.
Ingredients:
1 Lemon, round
1 ½ oz Dogfish Head Straight Whiskey
2 tsp Honey
2 tsp Lemon juice
1 Cinnamon Stick
¾ cup water
Instructions: In a teapot or saucepan, bring the water to a simmer. Pour the hot water into a mug.
Add the whiskey, 2 teaspoons honey and 2 teaspoon lemon juice. Stir until the honey has disappeared into the hot water. Taste, and add 1 teaspoon honey for more sweetness, and/or 1 teaspoon more lemon juice for more zing.
Garnish with a lemon round and cinnamon stick (if using). Enjoy!
Jack Frost Cocktail : Beach Time Distilling
For a cocktail that is snow-much-fun follow this recipe.
Ingredients:
Honey
Flaked coconut
8 cups
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup blue curacao
1/2 Beach Time distilling Beach Town Rum
1/2 cup cream of coconut
Instructions: Rim the glasses: Pour a thin layer of corn syrup onto a plate and dip the rims into the corn syrup, then dip in coconut flakes. In a blender, blend ice, pineapple juice, blue curacao, vodka and cream of coconut until desired consistency is reached. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
Rose Spritz : Painted Stave Distilling
This enchanting winter drink will keep the bright vibes that Valentine’s Day flowers bring all month long.
Ingredients:
Painted Stave Distilling Botanical Dry Gin
2 oz. Glendalough Rose Gin
1 oz. fresh lime juice
Grapefruit Soda
Grapefruit
Mint
Instructions: In a glass filled with ice, pour 2 ounces Glendalough Rose Gin. Add 1 ounce fresh lime juice, and top with grapefruit soda. Garnish with a grapefruit wheel and fresh sprig of mint.
Bonus Cocktails!
A “Delaware Made” Manhattan
Choose from Painted Stave Rye Whiskey, or Beach Time Distilling Some Beach Whiskey to create the crafty cocktail below:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. rye whiskey
1 3/4 oz. sweet vermouth such as Dolin Rouge
1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
3 dashes Angostura bitters
1 lemon twist for garnish
Instructions:
Pour the whiskey, vermouth, liqueur, and bitters into a mixing glass. Add large cold ice cubes and stir for 40 revolutions. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the lemon twist. Drink the Manhattan post haste.
Hard-Cider Cran-Marnier: Liquid Alchemy
Try a new spin on a seasonal favorite flavor… cranberries!
Ingredients:
2 - 12 oz. bottles hard cider
2 c. cranberry juice or cran-apple juice
6 oz. Grand Marnier
6 oz. Crown Royal Apple
1 orange sliced
1 Fuji apple thinly sliced
1 c. fresh cranberries
Instructions: In a pitcher, combine hard cider, cranberry juice, Grand Marnier, and Crown Royal Apple.
Add fruit.
Divide between 4-6 glasses.
Mulled Wine with Apple Brandy: Harvest Ridge Winery & Dogfish Distilling
This recipe calls for cozy and comfy nights at home.
Ingredients:
1 bottle Harvest Ridge Red Sangria
¼ cup Dogfish Head Espirit Malade Apple Brandy
2-4 Tbsp honey
1 orange thinly sliced
6-8 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
1-2 star anise
1 sprig fresh rosemary (optional)
Instructions: Pour wine and honey into pan and stir. Add citrus and spices. Heat over med-low until wine is almost simmering. Reduce heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes. Add rosemary (if using) and cook another 10 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!
