Historic New Castle
The charm of Historic New Castle flows through each piece of the town just like the Delaware river that surrounds it. Step back in time to discover historic landmarks among cobblestone streets or get an up-close view of the water with a stroll at Battery Park. Make your visit complete with a colonial meal at Jessop's Tavern.
Leipsic
Leipsic is a quiet, feel-good town with a front and center view of the Delaware Bay. Driving into town you’re welcomed by wide-open spaces, and farmland as far as the eye can see. Before you arrive, be sure to stop by Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge for a one-of-a-kind experience with migratory birds, marshland, glistening reflection ponds, and anything else you can discover along its nature-filled paths. For a waterfront dining experience second to none visit Sambo's Tavern from April to October. Where you’ll likely be greeted by the owner each time and be served up a pile of mouthwatering freshly caught Delaware crabs. Insiders tip: the Delmonico steak and honey dipped fried chicken are great too!
Bowers Beach
Bowers Beach resembles more of that coastal town vibe. Where there aren’t many houses where you drive by and don’t see a crab pot or boat anchor nearby. A place that prides itself on representing the “way life used to be.” Its sandy beach brings a sense of calm serenity, and yet a sense of excitement to our four-legged friends. A trip to Bowers Beach is made complete with a seafood dinner at JP’s Wharf from freshly shucked oysters Rockefeller, fan favorite crab balls, blackened salmon, an ice cream cone from Barnacles Ice Cream to top it all off. Be sure to visit the Bowers Beach Maritime Museum which is home to historic artifacts of Bowers Beach, the Delaware Bay, and watermen from over the years.
Slaughter Beach
Slaughter Beach is the perfect spot for those ready to grill and chill during their beach vacation. A perfect spot to spend the whole day at the beach and relax at your home away from home after a sunny filled day. Renting a house steps from the sand makes for a relaxing stay away from it all. Bring your best beach shoes and go on a hunt for unique pebbles shells, and maybe spot a couple hundred horseshoe crabs.
Long Neck
Adventures on the Bay await in Long Neck. Whether it be through the mode of an inner tube gliding through the water, or a kayak excursion through the bay there is always some type of fun happening here. Live music rocks the bay during the summer months at Paradise Grill, a swim up bar at the Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay campground keeps the coastal vibes pouring, and hole-in-one-moments await at Baywood Greens.
